Resident of Gloucester
As the election approaches, voters will naturally ask if Representative Mary Grant is serving her district well. Based on my work with the Representative and her staff, I am quite sure that voters will answer “yes” to that question. But district voters may be less familiar with the very important work that Representative Grant does every day on an issue of great concern to her district and to the Commonwealth: overcoming the nursing shortage.
I work with a collaborative of leaders from higher education, the health care sector, nursing organizations and workforce development agencies on the Nursing and Allied Health Education Initiative. We seek to increase the number of nurses in the Commonwealth and to enhance the quality of education for this important workforce. From the outset, Representative Grant has been a reliable and effective partner in this work and her assistance has meant a great deal to the success of the Nursing Initiative.
Representative Grant is a former nurse and she is an acknowledged leader in the House on nursing and health care issues. She serves as the House of Representative’s member on the Nursing Initiative Advisory Committee and she brings her experience and good sense to our discussions as we plan how to increase the number and quality of nurses in our state. I am very grateful to her for this support.
Please know that, should you return Representative Mary Grant to office, you are not only meeting the needs of your district. You are helping to meet a very important need for the Commonwealth. I look forward to again working by her side.
