    2009 Legislator of the Year


  • The MRPA presents this award to a legislator that has displayed dedication and advocacy on behalf of Parks and Recreation. State Representative Mary Grant was the choice for 2009 and received the award at the annual conference held at the DCU Center in Worcester on October 30, 2009. Rep. Grant was chosen for procuring state dollars for Miles McPherson Youth Center and for securing in a bond bill part of the money needed to renovate the historic Carriage House at Lynch Park.

  • YMCA of Massachusetts - 2008-09 Legislator of the Year


  • On Tuesday, February 10, 2009, State Representative Mary Grant was named Legislator of the Year by the YMCA of Massachusetts. The ceremony was held at the State House during the statewide Day on the Hill. The presenter for the statewide award was Jack Meany, chief executive officer of the YMCA of the North Shore Association. In his remarks, Meany highlighted the commitment of Rep. Grant and her family to the Y and also spoke of Grant’s success in securing the funding used to renovate the McPherson Youth Center in Beverly.   • On October 1, 2008, State Representative Mary E. Grant received the award as special recognition for Legislative Advocacy.

  • The Greater Beverly YMCA recognized State Representative Mary Grant with the Dedication to Youth Award 2007 for her outstanding service and dedication to the youth of our community.

  • State Representative Mary Grant was given a Certificate of Appreciation on April 4, 2006 by the Department of Mental Health. The award acknowledged her exemplary service on behalf of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with mental illness.

  • State Representative Mary Grant was recognized by the Massachusetts Association of Chambers of Commerce on May 18, 2006 for her distinguished service on the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses.
